Ceramic Study of the Hand

This project is a study of human anatomy, with the hand as its starting point. It consists of ten ceramic hands at actual size and several enlarged versions.

Most models have five fingers, one has six. This shows what can happen when you are too focused on form and detail and only later realise you forgot to count the fingers, indirectly referring to the early years of AI where similar mistakes appeared.

In another hand study, the construction failed because the clenched fist was built too quickly and too heavily, causing the form to collapse in on itself, giving the fist more expression than I could have planned
